ok so, i have long hair, with layers --like layers layers, as in they go as short as the top of my ears to super long.
problem is, after drying my hair, it just kind of flattens and my hair barely looks liek i have layers. (imagine a really flat, long heart shape)
so what i'm looking for is sort of poofy -- as in poofy heart shape, but also, the layers kinda stick out and are obvious
i'd consider it "scene-ish" hair, but correct me if i'm wrong.

theres a picture of what i basically want, except my hair is longer than hers.. what kind of products could i use to style my hair?
i've been told that garnier fructis shake effect liqui-gel could work..but i've looked in many stores and cant find anything close to it.. i live in canada btw, so if you have any suggestions you might wnat to keep this in mind..
THANKS ALOT :)
How to get STRAIGHT LAYERS (for girls - scene? hair) ??? (WITH PICTURES)?
Scene hair isn't really about the cut of the hair, it's about the way it's styled and coloured.
Scene hair originates from Manga styles (japanese cartoons) and is a more punk version of the "emo style" and usually still attributes as a long sweeping side fringe (though not always required.)
Scene hair can be about being yourselves, the aim is to just do what you think looks goodon you!
I found a website for you full of examples:

When it comes to dye, just think about the colours that suit you best and that you wouldn't mind having in your hair, pink, red, black and blonde streaks and the mose popular colours.
Style:
1. Wash and condition
2. towel dry
3. Use styling mouse or gel to brush backwards
4. Style around your face, have spiky bits at the back if you want.
Finish off with a cute DIY accessory, bow or necklace, such as something from LoveBites and Bruises: http://www.lovebitesandbruises.com
This will show a flair of originality that scenesters try to go for to make them stand out and be original.
Best of luck with it! :)

use volumizing gel or cream and blow dry with fingers not a brush so its thicker also put your head upside down when drying it to give it a lift at the roots then finish off with a shine serum or hairspray

Just try blow drying you hair upside down, and using some type of volumizing mouse.
Mouse would probably be better than gel because it's lighter.

Styling wax will do. The pantene pro-v one can be purchased at any pharmacy and it should be around $5.
I recently got a haircut and it looks similar to the one in the picture but it's a bit shorter and my stylist put the wax on my hair with her fingertips. I hope it will work out for your hair. ;)

HI
I would suggest after every wash- dry your hair and do out curls on them.
WIll look fantastic and ur layers will be visible as well

Blow dry hair while still wet, while fluffing with your fingers to give it bounce. Then straighten it to get it completely straight like hers is. Then apply a styling wax/pomade that will define your layers. Coat it on random pieces.

Finish the look off by spraying with hairspray to hold the style. Good luck!

if you are not getting this look ... and by the sounds of it from your post I would guess the reason you aren't gettig the look is because of the weight....if you want to copy this cut your hair needs to be as short and have as many layers.....that is the way the look happens.
When people come in to have hair copied or duplicated... it doesn't always work because they won't go as short or they don't have the same 'texture" of hair...
the photo has a girl with super thin hair.....as well as she has it bleached blonde which also gives it the lightness and lift that it has.....its not really a "product"......
i think a lot of people get that part mixed up....
if you want email me a photo of yours and I will advise more specifically....
but my first suggestion is to get it cut a lot more....and if you have thick and heavy hair it just would be too heavy.... its the one and only way you will get that look....
