How do I make my hair stick out and be messy?

I have short-ish hair (collarbone length) that has lots of short layers in the back and sides. My hairdresser said i could use a product to pull out these layers and make my hair sort of messy, especially on the top.

Any advice of what product to use and how to actually achieve this style?

Use "got-2-be-glued" Costs about $5 and lasts a month.

Its a hair product that you put a dime sized amount in your hand and rub your hands together. It's very sticky and you may need to add a few drops of water to your hand to make it more pliable. Scrunch the ends of your dry hair and pull outward. Manipulate your hair how you want it and it will dry very quickly in the spikes and texture you have created. Washes out with shampoo.

I think you'll need some kind of holding substance, such as molding clay or wax.

Listen to your hairdresser...ask around about different product while your shopping....ask your girlfriends what holds their hair the best...Don't use three flowers...it will screw up any clippers that stylist use...Unless they or you wash your hair first....Put the product in your hand not alot maybe the size of a nickel rub your hands together, product exfoliats...then put it through your hair look in the mirror from the nape of your neck push your hair up and around the sides and top same thing...just do it you'll see...you'll be a stud.... :) Take Care...
