The hair type. Cornrows, dreds, and braided hairstyles are natural "black folk" hairstyles while straight hairstyles are natural "other folk" hairstyles. Thats why dreds look crappy on white guys and that's why most weaves look crappy on black women. It just isn't natural.

Too be honest I don't really like how dreads look on any race, I think that they make the person hair look uncombed. Plus, it just looks plain nasty to me. All the other styles could go on anyone else

I don't know, it's like w/ cornrows they origingated w/ the decendents of slaves and it seems we look best w/ them as we have the bone structure for it. Or straig hair ppl who were born w/ that type of hair look best w/ it because it is of them. That's just my opinion though. Oh as for the girl who hates dreads I always wonder if ppl like you are ashamed of your natural hair %26amp; wish to push that shame on others'. . . .
