I dont consider myself not good looking by any means but I dont think anything sticks out about me, which probably gets me lost in the crowd, which makes it harder to impress girls Im sure. Im pretty conservative looking. Im a 22 year old white male, I have short black hair, dark brown eyes, pretty long face, clean shaven. What can I do to my look, which doesnt make me look too crazy as I tend to actually not care for people who try to bring alot of attention to themselves by looking crazy. Also how can I find out what hair style, color possibly although Im not too keen on changing my hair color, facial hair style and what not can make more attractive I guess.

take care of your teeth and keep them white, then smile often. dress sharp. depending on your personal style, i would say add a nice watch or an earring. nothing too crazy needs to be done to bring attention to yourself.

as a girl; id like to say that the guys that dont stand out all that much are the ones that grab the most attention from girls... my friend never saw herself with this guy and then they ended up hooking up one night after the bars one night and then we all realized just how good looking he was and how much he blends in -but that was part of his charm... id say - stay just the way you are!

Hair breakage on top of my head?

Ok, I know that hair can break if overprocessed, damaged etc. (which mine is a little bit) But I've always found the breakage to occur at the ends. Lately after styling my hair Ive noticed small strands of hair broken off and sticking up at the top of my head. I have shoulder length hair w/ long layers so these pieces are considerably shorter than the rest.

What could be causing this? HELP PLEASE!

maybe your not using enough conditioner. i know it flattens the top of your hair, but, maybe a deep conditioner once a week or more may be helpful...good luck!!

Did you just have a baby recently? This has happened to me after giving birth. My solution was to have it cut short on top and curl with curling iron and tease so as to make it less obvious. Another time I just went and had a perm and cut it short of course then I had to wait for it to grow out then cut off the permed hair off. Both worked fine. I like my hair straight so I wouldn't want to get a perm it again.

So pretty much I went to a salon to get my hair cut and styled. The lady cut off the length first then went in with a razer and thinned it.. and then blow dried it and straightend it then cut it again with thinning shears.. now my hair is WAY too thin for my likings... Keep in mind I love the cut and style.. just when I feel my hair its TOO thin now and a pony tails look so stupid and small now.

My hair is super thick so I usually get my hair thinned except for when it starts growing back it has ALOT of volume...and for me this is only about a less than a month after doing it...i think it actually made my hair bigger than it was before...haha..so i just decided to go to another place and what they do is just do the ends of your hair...an i like that alot better

since you say extremely thick, I would say a month - 3 months max. My hair is also very thick and I always get it thinned; I notice it after a month and by 3 months it's back to normal.

I would say about a month. But if you sweat alot it will grow in faster. I know that's sound wired but. If you don't wash your hair for a while it will grow. Hair can grow under dirt for some reason.

Thining your hair is removing it. By cutting layers into it, you have to wait for the hair to grow back. Sorry, but the resonse of a couple of days was wrong. Hair is dead once it leaves the scalp, so it will won't regenerate from the bottom.

first of all it horriably to get your hair thinned if its super think i did it and i have a huge puff on top of my head but it should be back to normal within a week or two ...but when it comes back its gonna come back twice as thick.

in France, short hair is considered as beautiful as long hair. if you think you look like a boy, have some fun with hair accessories. put in some clips, a headband, and some pretty earrings. wear some light makeup, and you'll look pretty pretty!

There are some fun hairstyles you can do with shorter hair and a French comb, where you can tuck your hair back into simple but cool formations. i would google them.

Don't forget to have fun! Get like ten bucks and go to a dollar store, grab a bunch of clips and accessories.

well, i have curly hair first off. a round face. my hair now, when its curly, is a couple inches below my shoulder. very basic, thinned out cut with a face frame and side-swept bangs. its getting pretty boring. i pull it back in a pony tail everyday, because when i leave it down, its very....big. but overall my curls are pretty nice and managable with about 5 minutes and some hair gel. im moving away to college in a few months too. im kind of done with the pony tail days and looking for something kinda simple, chic, and sophisticated i can fix in a few minutes and go. thats pretty much my style. any ideas would be wonderful!! thanks!! =] http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a176/b... if it helps any, thats a picture of myself. =]

well, you know those head bands that have the little clips that you can clip on the front/top of your head? those look adorable with curly hair. also, if you use some gell that makes your hair look a little wet, that looks super cute!!! plus, it sort of makes it less poofy. Good luck!

I'm a 31 year old mom of 3 and I have long hair (just below shoulder length) that is a mixture of curly and wavy (curly on top, wavy underneath). I haven't had it cut for 6 months because I've been trying to grow it out - but now I don't know what to do with it! I need a new style, but I'm not sure what would work. I've had it short before and I looked too old - someone thought I was ten years older! Any ideas? (pics would be great)

My hair is the exact same but longer. I know what you are going through. I had my hair cut in layers and it added more volume but at the same time gave me a fresh look without having my hair to short. It makes it a lot easier to put it up in cute pony tails too :) Good luck

i know being a mother of three doesnt give you much time to 'do' your hair, but try cutting it shoulder length and straighten it with a CHI straightener. also, you can try to use shampoo's that help straighten your hair, like Herbal Essences pin straight shampoo. sorry if im no help.

ok i went to the salon and i told the lady i wanted highlights and she asked how thick and i said whatever looks best, i just dont want them to be too noticable ..so she did it and washed my hair and what not, then we walked back to the chair...i looked in the mirror and my hair was EL MONTE ORANGE !!!!

because my hair is dark and when she bleached it, it camw out bad !! i figured it would look better once she dryed it .. she styled it and CUT my side baangs to the middle of my forehead !!!!!!!! when she was done i was mortified !!!! i started to cry !! it looked that bad ! so i went home crying and my mom took me back ..to the salon and the salon said that she was the only one who could fix it..so she dyed it dark with few highlights at the bottom and what not... but my bangs were still short !! and my hair felt really coarse !!!! the next day i washed my hair and the dark color is coming out !!! WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX MY DAMAGED HAIRRR !!! please help im crying i look so ugly

well your not supposed to wash your hair until 48hours after you dye it.

maybe get a semi permanent dye when that fades to much

and wait for your bangs to grow out.

well while ur waiting for the orange to come out get some long-lasting dark hair dye to put over your whole head until the orange is completely gone. Also...don't forget to get a root touch-up...that would be embarrasing. If u get hair dye to cover up the orange...make sure it looks like ur natural color, or whatever u had it before u got the orange. This way when the orange is gone...u dont have to worry about having to keep dying ur hair. Also...make sure to test the dye first on a small strand of orange so that u kno it doesn't react to it in an odd way before u do it to ur whole head.

And for ur bangs...I would get some of those simple little snap-clips and put ur bangs up wit hsome of ur longer hair...makes it look like ur puting ur hair up that way. or u could get a headband and just wear it like normal, but put ur bangs underneath it.

I'm sorry you had to go through such a nightmarish experience with this alleged hair stylist. On the positive side, hair does grow out . . .

I really like Vanessa Hudgen's new haircut, the straight style, but my hair is thick, not bushy, just thick and I can straighten it and all.

I would really like my hair cut like her's but I need a way to get rid of the thickness and the bluntness, I have heard of thinning, so if anyone knows more about that process, if you could tell me a little more about it. Also if you could tell me what to tell the stylist who is cutting my hair, also should I bring pictures, I have bangs swept like hers, I just want them a little but shorter, like hers.

I have extremely long straight black hair that hangs down shorter in the front and sometimes I don't know what to do with it. I braid it on occasion and put it in a low ponytail with elegant hair accessories for a dressy look. Messy buns and high ponytails are casual and fun too but I would like to have more a variety of styles. Does anyone have any ideas? Quirky styles are acceptable too!

im guessing you have straight hair so when you wake up in the morning wip out the curling iron and you can wave certian parts of your hair. you can do the ends of a bunch or just here and there for a messy cute look.

another thing you can try is headbands. get some really sweet looking ones.

then you but rollers(not hot) onto your hair while its still in a ponytail. when you wake up take out the rollers and your hair should be curly at the ends. then you fix up the ponytail and if you want you can let down a thick strand of hair from your bangs. you get the curling iron and curl that strand. it looks very pretty and elegant. but its also sumthing you can wear to the mall.

My natural hair color is black

My cousin is a cosmotologist and she bleached (part of it only) and then painted the areas withj pink color (the color was in a small envelope the was called "Crazy Color"

After 8-9 washed the color started to fade and i painted the areas that were pink black again

(A month later) I washed 8-9 and now the areas that i painted over are now light brown

I wonder if the bleach is still on my hair or did my cousin take it off with some chemicals?

did she use a color stipper, then you you died it black, now the black has washed off and it's a light brown color? that's alot of processing in such a short time but yes you can put pink on the light brown parts, i would hold off on adding any more black for a while though. black dye is really harsh on your hair

You do not want to bleach your hair over and over as it weakens the hair and will break it off. You would be better off to get a permanent dye a dye it back to it's natural color till you are ready to make the next change to it. Your cousin may tell you it is okay and won't hurt it. I cannot see the hair perhaps she is right but I wouldn't want to chance my hair breaking it looks rel bad when it breaks off and can only be fixed by cutting it off.

I want to get my hair to look like this. What Products would I need?

I just got my hair drastically cut on Friday, so I feel your pain. Since it seems that you straighten your hair every day, why not look in to getting chemically straightened, instead? If your hair is on the quite curly/kinky side, then it will make it more wavy and you will still need to straighten it, but the job will be much easier.

If your hair is inbetween that, like mine, if you get it chemically straightened, it should only take you two to three minutes of upkeep each day. Since the style seems to be a shag, i would reccommend a light touch of anti-frizz cream after youve straightened it...just a little blob on your palms, rub it around and run your palms over sections of your hair. I use Suave anti-frizz cream. It comes in a teal bottle and is very inexpensive. (Walmart)

After the anti-frizz cream, I would try a moulding wax perhaps, or something of that type. Remember, wax stays in forever! Perhaps a pomade instead, just to get it the direction you want. Try a light touch at first then run your iron through your hair and comb it through with one of those simple black ones that the old men use. (97 cents at Walmart)

Eventually your hair will train itself to do what you want. Be persistant, it will take a little bit. Watch your hair stylist closely and ask lots of how questions. If he/she is a good stylist, they will be more than happy to explain what they are doing to help you create your style at home. ask what type of products they reccommend also, instead of brands.

but... i dunno i have curly hair, and i do the gel thing and leave it down or half down

you could always try highlights or if u have 1/2 an hour in the mornings straighten it...

the half hair pony tail or clip usually is easy and simple.

I'm not sure what to do about my dry, damaged hair. It has been overprosessed by colouring/bleaching and straightening with irons. How do I restore the moisture? It has terrible fly aways, split ends, is increasingly hard to style and is now where hear as shiny and soft as it used to be. I'm getting regular trims, and have brought a good intensive conditionor (tresseme). I'm only 14, so I cannot afford to have deep treatments done at a salon and my mum wont pay for it. I guess I should quit with the dye jobs and straightening, BUT-

1. If I stop coloring my hair, my roots will come through and look ugly

2. Straightening is the only way to make my hair look nice, styled and (somewhat) smooth and shiny.

What should i do? I've been thinking of chopping it all of and starting again, but its taken me ages to grow my haur from short to its current length of just to the end of my neck.

The only way to get rid of the damage is to cut it off. Obviously you don't want a Winona Ryder type cut. So in the mean time. Find someone to regularly trim it for a low price. At least an inch at a time. Talk to your mom about what you can afford. At this stage you've bleached all of the pigment from your hair. That means that if you try to darken the color instantly, the new color will slide right off in the shower. So unless you simply allow it to grow, you'll have to go over it with a darker color ever 2-3 weeks. Good Luck

Try some intensive conditioning treatments, most brand do them and they only cost a few pounds so they won't break the bank, but if they dont work try smothering your hair in warm (not hot) olive oil for a day or so, it probably means staying in for a day or so but it's really worth it.

And also try darkening your hair gradually as it grows, a slightly darker shade each time so it eventually blends in with your natural colour.

First STOP DYING your hair. Second stop straightening it. Third cut it! It sucks but its a must. Dying especially blonde sucks the moisture out of your hair and then on top of it you are straighening it which just dries it out even more. You have terrible fly aways because you have split ends. Just cut it to the new growth because it its as bad as you say it is and you are regularly getting your hair trimmed its just gonna spit all the way down to the new growth anyway. Heat is very bad for your hair especally if you have dyed hair and use heating appliances more than 1 a week.

first of all start oiling your hair specially before you shampoo. best method is to warm oliveoil (not the virgin) a little bit and massage your scalp and ends. leave in for atleast 20 minutes before shampooing. try using therma silk shampoo and therma silk conditioner. and never forget to use special serums befor straightening or using irons on hair. they protect your hair from heat of irons. you can also try putting yougurt mixed with egg yolk to your hair after oiling and before shampooing. it's guarenteed to give your hair extra shine.

you can dye it back to your natural color and keep on using the mouisturizer and reular cuts. otherwise you need to get a heat protective spray when you flat iron your hair i recommend regis products around $12 dollars you can buy them at the salons but if you dont want to pay as much you can get a tresseme or john frieda product works just as well. also if there is a paul mitchell or toni and guy cosmetology school around you they do those things half off .

Okay, first of all if you're willing to color it, go darker! Lighter hair reflects light and if it's damaged will only highlight the damage that's been done. Darker hair shadows and will shadow the damage. Try a brown but I would stick with a level 6 or so (lighter brown).

As for a conditioning treatment, you can do this at home no need for a salon. Condition your hair and do NOT rinse it out. Instead use either saran wrap or some sort of grocery bag ,whatever you can find. Wrap your hair in that (secure with hair clips or barettes) and use a blow dryer to heat. If you don't feel like holding a blowdryer for 20 minutes you can vaccuum or do some sort of physical activity to raise your body temp. See, heat escapes from the head heating the conditioner. Either way leave it in for 20 minutes to a 1/2 hour. Do that once a week. Rinse with COLD water not hot because the cold water will close up your hair follicles leaving the hair conditioned.

Now, for straightening that's not a problem. You can do it everyday. I have straightened my hair every day for about 10 years but you MUST apply a heat protectant to your hair before straightening it. I use Chi Silk Infusion but it is pretty expensive. I'm sure you could go to Target or a similar store and find it in the hair product aisle. (I think thermasilk makes good commercial products) Hope this helps! Good Luck!

P.S. One more thing-- If you do color it darker you should go to a salon. Since you're going from blonde they will, most likely need to throw a filler on your hair first so that the color you choose will take. Bleaching your hair removes all the pigment and when you try to dye it back to a darker color it won't take without a filler typically the filler will be red but have a professional do it. when i was 16 i had the same problem. only my hair was already short and i would basically have to shave my head to get rid of it. so i had to stop dying it. not fun since my hair was bright orange because the bleach had been bleached over black and then dyed pink so when the pink faded my hair was orange. it was so dry that i could not straighten it anymore. i got regular trims like one every 3 weeks. i tryed a semi permanent brown hair color to try to blend my roots but after awhile some of the hair stopped taking to it. i am not gonna lie it takes almost a year to get good hair again... u might want to try to cut as much out as possible it might speed up the process.

Unless you cut it I'm not sure It will look like his. You need to cut it in chunky pieces and apply extra strength gel to it. It also helps to get one of those blow out kits to help achieve that 'crazed' look. I think the problem is is that your hair might be too straight. A kit and some scissors would do you nicely.

your only 14 so your getting your permanent hair texture. nothing can change your hair unless it's burnt by hair chemical's that's the only thing that can make your hair kinky other then being born with it. it doesnt matter if your mom or dad has kinky hair or not. what about your grand parent's aunt's or uncle's. check them out. here's how i know

i am irish and portuguese and my children's father is dominican black and indian. my mom is irish with straight hair, the children's father has kinky hair i have a soft curly hair. my oldest son has kinky hair. my middle child has a soft curl just like mine. and my youngest son has absolutely straight hair not a single wave.

so you see every one in your family play's a role in your gentic's. so once again do a search to see if anyone else in your family has kinky hair.

the texture of your hair will change over time. I'm sure if you look at your baby pictures you can see a slight difference. Also it sounds like you use to cut your hair often, doing this will help ensure healthly hair. Since your growing your hair out your texture may be changing because the ends are not as healthy. Also what you eat and drink effects your nails and hair. A good multi-vitamin might help. GNC even sells vitamins for hair and nails. Drink plenty of water. You may need to trim you hair and grow it out again and try using a good moistures. A little olive Oil. Natural stuff is great for the hair and condition. It sound like your hair is getting dry. Ok, I'm 15, and from the time I was in like 4th grade to 6th grade, I refused to go to the Beautitions. My hair got long, but it was really damaged. So I went to this one place, and the lady really whacked a bunch of damaged hair off. I was mad at how short it got. I guess it couldn't be helped... I had some layers put in it too. But I just didn't like what she was doing to me, so I went else where. It's been like 2 years. My hair is an inch past sholder length. I want it an inch past my shloder blades. My hair grows slow. and it's thin, whispy, and my top layer is reddish blond wavy and a little corse, and my under layer is dark stright and soft... but it always looks like it's sepperated and needs to be brushed. my hair gets really wavy at the base of my neck. What can I do to help my hair grow faster? And what styles do you recomened? Hair vitemens? if so what kind? Please help me... Thank you.

Well I beg to differ with the answer above me. You can get your hair to grow faster, vitamins are a good start, they sell those for hair nails and skin, they will help your hair get healthy and the healthier the better the growth. You need a trim every six- eight weeks, not much just a tad to get any damaged ends off. Then you can use kereginics, shampoo, conditioner and leave in spray, you get these from sally's beauty supply. IT WORKS! I had someone botch my hair and the advice I was given was kereginics and my hair grew quickly. I think if you do all the above you will notice a difference, good luck.

Ok, first, you need to find a stylist you trust because hair will continue to break and split if you don't keep it trimmed. Here's what I would suggest. Most, if not all, salons will give you a hair consultation at no charge. Go to several salons if you need to and have a sit down with a hairdresser. Let them tell you what you what needs to be done. IF you like the hairdresser, schedule an appointment to get your hair shampooed and styled. (Not cut) This will allow the stylist to work with your hair a bit and allow you to see if you like the way she does your hair. This will give you lots of ideas and help you find someone you trust to do your hair. Good luck.

nothing really makes your hair grow faster, it does help to trim hair every 2 months, eat healthy and drink LOTS of water, pre-natal vitamins are good for nails and hair

You honestly wouldn't need to take any length off of you hair if you don't want to. Ask your hairdresser to cut a layer that's right around your shoulders to give your hair some body and shaping, because length probably makes it heavy.
